Whilst visiting numerous
businesses presenting the KIS Safety Risk Management Programme, it became
obvious that simple solutions were being sought by the safety and risk
management professionals in other areas of safety/risk management. This led us
to discussions with our Australian software developer to also provide software
programmes that met these needs.
Simple to use software is now
available to assist businesses in the areas of:
 | incident and potential
hazard management, |
 | carrying out internal and
external audits, |
 | tracking employees
certification/skill requirements and providing an alert when they become due
for renewal e.g. First Aid Certificates, Operator's tickets etc. |
 | tracking equipment and
plant usage and hours to schedule servicing & maintenance requirements. |
These 4 products come under
the name of FACT (Flexible Audit Control Technology) and are known as FACT
I.M.S. (Incident Management System), FACT Audit, FACT Compass (the employee
skill navigation tool) and FACT PlantCheck.
- The KIS
Safety Risk Management Program:
-
assists in
compiling Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) on the
multitude and various tasks carried out by the people in your organisation
from top to bottom. These JHA's view the task steps from either a safety or
a financial and environmental perspective or a combination of both
(or other measurements suiting your business needs e.g. public perception).
From this base JHA the Safe
Work
Procedures, Task Observations, Observation Schedule & Competency Assessments
and various reports can be produced at the touch of a button. Improvements to
how the task is carried out need only be entered into the base JHA and the
change is updated throughout the rest of the program. It has been
specifically designed for ease of use and to assist management in ensuring
their employees' skills and competencies are
established,
reviewed, maintained and corrected on a
scheduled basis to
ensure a 'safe system of work' (O.S.H. Act 1984).

- FACT
Incident Management System (I.M.S.)

this software
tool provides a means to maintain a comprehensive record of Medically Treated
Injuries, Lost Time Injuries, First Aid, Alternate Duties, Workers
Compensation tracking, Damage and Incident Costs plus environmental impact.
An incident with multiple effects e.g. injury,
environmental impact and damage to plant or equipment can be recorded and
managed from the one data source and record. It is also a hazard and
near miss reporting tool that can generate emails to
the departments responsible for corrective action with an alert for any
actions that miss the scheduled rectification date.

aspects of work carried out meet with both in-house and legislative

Compass

is a data base
interface to filter employee records, competencies & renewal alerts. This has
been specifically created with the Human Resource
& Training professional in mind to allow ease in
managing the skills and competencies of staff and be pro active in planning
the organisation's training needs to cover not only succession plans but also
renewals of accreditations and certificates e.g. Police Clearances, First Aid
Certificates, Driver's Licenses etc.
It can be set up to allow line manager's access to the skills record but bar

FACT PlantCheck
This program is designed to assist
businesses in scheduling and identifying the planned, regular maintenance of
plant and machinery in the organisation. It is simple to use and cost effective.
